In this lesson, students will be able to compose simple melodies using a computer and a midi keyboard. Students will also have an understanding of time signatures.

Create-a-Composition
Expressing oneself creatively in the performing arts media adds an extra dimension to one's creative energies. Composing a musical piece will spark in the child a new found enthusiasm for music, and its value in his/her social and effective learning development.

How to Create a Rainstick
The students will be able to construct their own rain stick.

Mix N' Match
Using only the first five tones of the major scale eg. c,d,e,f,g or 1,2,3,4,5; the students will put together many, different and unusual melody patterns, writing the patterns with either the letter names or number names (3 to 5 notes in each pattern).

This is a lesson of fun and enjoyment for the students in your music class. The students will learn about the National Anthem and its importance, do some singing, and create rhythm activities that can be used the next time they go to a big game.
